Seal Colony

We have been off on yet another of our bleak half term break activities.  We traveled to Blakeney near Norwich on the east coast of England to view a seal colony.  It was very cold!  We arrived a bit too soon and had to wait for the tide to come in.  It is one of those seaside towns where you may hear banjo music playing if you listen hard enough.   We saw both the grey and the common seal.  Mostly the grey seal.  They swam along side the boat which was very cute.  They looked like dogs.  On the way back to shore it was so cold that we had to keep our heads down the entire time.  Strangely enough, there was a Canadian couple on our boat as well.  Those Canadians get out everywhere!  We were wearing the same mittens!  It took the rest of the day to thaw out but it was very enjoyable.  I would recommend it for the summer months.  Here are a few pics.
