Oktoberfest

My new friend and co-worker Melanie and I attended every night of the 9 days of Oktoberfest celebrations. Our 9 days were as follows: 1) Dave’s Night Out at Oktoberfest featuring the 80’s band Honeymoon Suite. They put on a good show but I didn’t really know who they were. I was manning Dave’s Sausage. I spend the evening riding and helping others ride a large bucking sausage while clad in a dirndl. My thighs were quite sore after that. 2) Pridetoberfest, Queensmount Fest hall and the back to Pridetoberfest. The pridetoberfest people had used the sausage the next night as well. I thought it was just as funny the second night. The Queensmount hall was too full, hot and sticky so we went back to Pridetoberfest just in time to catch the last of the B Girls act. I love a good transvestite show at Oktoberfest. It was fun and the music was great. Melanie even broke her strict no dancing rule. 3) This may have been Rocktoberfest featuring Walter Ostenack and the band Mobile. The band was too loud for that venue I though so we didn’t stay all that late. 4) I think we just went to the Fredrick street tent. 5) Nothing was open so back to the tent 6) Queensmount 7) Beatoberfest, another fine corus entertainment product featuring Jully Black, George, Marianas Trench and Prize Fighter. And last but not least, 8) Oktoberfest. Oh I forgot the parade that we were in on the Monday. That was all the Oktoberfest I could handle and more but good times all the same. My Dirndl has been returned and I am back to normal office attire. Time to think about what to wear for Halloween! Favourite toberfest of them all? Pridetoberfest and Dave’s Night Out. They were the most fun by far. They weren't as loud or over crowded as many of the other nights were.

Thanksgiving 1 and 2

Thanksgiving is a great eating holiday. I am on a crazy diet right now though so I didn’t enjoy it to the max. Even still it was delicious as always. There was an amazing Thanksgiving at Mandie's place. Stephen did an excellent job with the cooking. I can’t believe she hosted that many people. It was awesome to go to someone else’s big family event. My family did their thanksgiving one week previous. Two thanksgivings is the best thing ever. It is holidays like that that I have really missed.

Scary Stuff

We went to Kim Glow farms the other night to get the crap scared out of us. Again. We went to Scream Park last night and it was so terrifying we almost had a series of heart attacks. It was the VIP and media appreciation night. It was a nice catered dinner and a pee your pants scary house to walk through and wagon ride through the forest. There were chain saws, people grabbing you, scary clowns. The works. It was terrifying. I don’t know how they could allow kids there because I totally couldn’t handle it. Kim Glow was pretty mild in comparison but not without its Halloween charm. As for actual Halloween which was tonight, I didn’t really get into it. I guess I celebrated at the Revolution on Saturday night. I went out with Mandie, Stephen and Mel for the Beat’s DJ night. I was fun and there were lots of costumes. I started out as asparagus but ended up as Medusa. So when Halloween came today, instead of putting on a costume, I filed my taxes. Wow, I’m exciting. Well it really needed to be done.

Also, I recently partook in the CIBC 5 Km Run for the Cure. It was a beautiful day and loads of money was raised for breast cancer research. Exercise really is addictive. Also I have been studying like a mad woman to pass the up coming Japanese Language Proficiency Exam that I will be taking at York in December. I’m heading to Toronto tomorrow to see Matty and Nicole. The weekend looks clear of activities though. I hope you all had a happy Halloween. Today's photos are mainly of Oktoberfest and s few from Halloween.
