Wow! Let’s get a blog happening before October is over! I am busy as always but that is no excuse. Let’s see, since the triumphant return of my little Jackie chan, I have gone on vacation to Halifax, enjoyed Oktoberfest to the max and got a great new job for these four short months while I am home. My good friend Ryan has made the excellent suggestion that start to use small titles between sections so that he doesn’t have to read the entirety of my ramblings all at once. Quite right. So for the first time ever I will do so. I think it’s a good thing. Even still I think I will divide this post into two entries. There is just a boat load of stuff to talk about and lots of pictures I want to display.

Halifax

It was my first trip to the east of Canada, that is anywhere past Quebec City. I had a lovely time and met many relatives for the first time. It is a very short flight and not overly expensive either. We went to Peggy’s Cove, Halifax, Dartmouth and various other little stops along the way that Aunt Sandra was good enough to take us too. The scenery is quite picturesque. You feel like you are visiting a series of postcards sometimes. Well in the country anyways. Halifax looks like it could be a lot of fun. We didn't really have the time for shopping but the downtown looked pretty good. It was great for photography though. I could have taken a million photos there. I did manage to take quite a few. It was a great welcome back trip to go on with my parents.

My Job

Thanks to the gods of nepotism, I have been hooked up with a sweet job courtesy of my good friend Mandie. I am now on the promotions team for DAVE FM and 91.5 The Beat. It is a wonderful job with great hours and awesome co-workers. I am so lucky as always. The first great event this job has taken me to was a golf tournament with Red Green! We met Steve Smith and a few other from the cast of The Red Green Show. How long have I loved Red Green? Oh I’d say since I joined Possum Lodge in the 9th grade. It was really nice to meet him with a friend who has loved him as long as I have. Great times!

Rockton World's Fair

Lauren, Mom and I took this one in. It was a great day for it and unseasonably hot. We went on Cattle Day. It reminded me of all those years of fall fair attendance from my youth. I love the fall fair. We would always get the day off school to go to it and would enter in all kinds of categories. I especially like the photography division and the Ferris wheel even though I am vaguely afraid of heights. I also really liked the poultry barn. There were an awful lot of crazy looking bird in there and a rabbit petting table! Very nice.

Ok, that will be all for today. Time to go to bed and get ready for a big day tomorrow of shopping and banking. I have to say that I am pretty happy these days. I have a relaxing job and am finally getting into the Canada thing again. I wasn’t 100% thrilled to be back at first because I felt like I was just thrown back into life here but I have reconnected with my friends and family and made some positive changes for myself. I think I will really enjoy these four months at home. I know they will go by quickly. If I haven’t caught up with some of you yet, believe me I want to but I just haven’t found the time. I will make time though. Just give me a shout. Also, all of you guys back in J-town still. I miss you so much!!! I am jealous that you are still all partying like rock stars. Keep in touch. Today's photos are from Halifax, the golf tournie and Rockton. I love the poultry.
