Roaming around Rome

I like Rome.  I love the relaxed atmosphere, the food and counterfeit handbags.  I didn't buy any but I was tempted.  We got a bus into Rome from Civitavecchia.  It is a smallish town and a sea port on theTyrrhenian  Sea.  There were beautiful country-side views and sea views on the coach which is nice when you are only spending the day there.  We had a relaxed sunny lunch outdoors in a square and listed to some musicians performing.  Because we had been to Rome before, I didn't feel the need to run around to all the tourist spots.  We wrote some postcards, did some shopping and ate some gelato.  The weather was beautiful as well.
We did go to the collesium and to the Vatican because it was part if the tour and as it was near to Easter time, there was a lot of special displays for you to look at.  In our tour, there was an elderly couple who couldn't get over how different Rome was than their northern English town of Burnley.  No kidding!
