The Gruffalo in pumpkin format |
This has been a glorious autumn. The leaves have turned colour beautifully and the weather has stayed warm and pleasant. I could walk around London today with just a cardigan. And it has been sunny! Am I in another country pretending to be England? I love it. I didn't go off anywhere this half term break besides scenic Ipswich to take in a football game and a little sea air. The cats have been romping outside like nobody's business. They are enjoying their final week in this house before I move for the third time this year. Hopefully this one will be a keeper. I can almost see the next place from the one I currently live in so the logistics shouldn't be too bad.

It's weird to see jack-o-lanterns with a
Christmas tree in the background |
My current house has been repossessed so I have to go. It is a real shame because I really like the place. It has a lovely little back yard with freshly cut grass (thanks Dad!) and a shed with a piano in it. Who could ask for more? Oh well, the new place is a large Victorian conversion with 5 flats in it. It is nice and bright and the kitchen is new which is a bonus. I hate moving and I am pretty sure everyone I know is sick of helping me move. I try to rotate my moving crew each time but some people have come back up in the roster again already. I will try and recruit some coworkers this week.

Fortnum and Mason Christmas display |
I have had a few outings this week. I went to concert to see Tom sing in a choir with an orchestra in the city at the Royal Festival Hall. It was fabulous and very uplifting. I went to another football game and went out to dinner with friends at a pub in Bushey. I met Kosa in town today and we had lunch on the grass at Southwark cathedral. I had a roasted pork belly sandwich from Borough market. Then I headed over to Green Park to have a peak in Fortnum and Mason, a posh department store. They had carved some cool pumpkins for their window displays and they also had gorgeous Christmas displays up. It was very decadent and over the top. You would need a pretty fancy Christmas tree to put some of the ornaments on it. I thought about buying a glass ball type of ornament only to find it was £35. That is more than my tree is likely to cost! It is a nice place to buy someone a gift though. I hope my Christmas presents all come from that store. Perhaps if you all band together, I could get a hamper! Here is a link to the one I would like.
