I've been back to Canada for Easter briefly, taken in a Royal wedding party and watched the wedding about 60 times on TV and an almost at half term again! I love it when the holidays roll in. Although I do have to say I am jealous of the mega long holiday the you Canadian teachers are about to get. It is long enough to forget you ever worked in the first place. Still these weeks off here and there are pleasant and break up the term quite nicely.

I have moved yet again! I am now all moved in to my new flat. I think a flattering term for it would be petite but I like it very much. My gradual migration north of London continues as I am now a resident of Bushey, home of the Bushey Beavers football club. How delightful! It is a much nicer neighbourhood and still not too far from work. The cats helped to install all of the new appliances and to assemble a bunch of flat pack furniture. Nothing about that process was frustrating! Neal ate a sign wood dowel which was necessary to hold part of the bed frame in place. They loved all the cardboard boxes though. The new landlord is not a big fan of the cats but I'm sure we can reach some sort of arrangement.

The royal wedding party was in Loughborough, where Taylor did her undergrad. There was delightful masks of the royals and various celebs there, I believe Susan Boyle made an appearance along with President Obama. The food was nicely done as well and there was a lot of it. We had cucumber sandwiches with the crusts cut off, scones with strawberries and clotted cream, a roast of lamb, a shockingly poor union jack cake that looked more like the spiderman logo, loads of Pimms and other nibbles. I was briefly interviewed on The Beat in Kitchener as well although I was no where near the actual event. I thought wedding itself was great. I liked the pageantry of it all. It made everyone so patriotic in a fairly non-patriotic country. Flags and buntings were out everywhere which was odd to see in my old neighbourhood which is predominantly Indian and Pakistani people. Just a few weeks previously when the cricket world cup was on, you would not have seen many people in my neighbourhood identifying themselves as British. Everyone was draped in the Indian and Sri Lankan flags. But a few weeks later it was all union jacks for the wedding. It was a very unifying event in that way.

Today's photos are of the fine masks we made for the royal wedding party, the massive amount of pimms that was pervaded for the event (perhaps enough for the actual festivities themselves!), me on the beach at Southampton at Easter, Stanmore in full bloom and finally, my Mackerel testing out the new washer dryer. He looks like he is in some kind of space capsule. Such a cutie!
