School
The stand out is my acceptance to Oxford University. I can't believe that I got in. I will be taking a course for two years on a part time basis so I can work and pay for the thing. I am really looking forward to getting back at something that is a little more relavent to my life. I have loved this radio gig but it's time to be a teacher again. I have had an awesome time at this job though. It was really good for me to do something in a different feild because it g
ave me lots of time to deal with my health issues, to make applications and study japanese. Plus there is the added bonus of all the events we do and the great people I work with. Even the weirdos are amusing. Haha. So I will be studying second langauge acquisition. I learned in Japan that I really like teaching ESL and would be interested enough in that to pursue it a little further. I am also really excited to see a little more of europe. I haven't really gone anywhere there. It all looks like fun.
Benoit
We have an outdoor cat these days. Mom has made a shelter for it outside which is ruining the lives of the indoor cats. They don’t like this new guy one bit. I have called him Benoit upon
Melanie’s suggestion. It turns out that he is named after a nurderous wrestler. Yikes! He is very friendly and probably the former indoor cat of one of my deadbeat neighbours. He can’t keep living out there so if anyone wants a perfectly lovely affectionate cat I’ll box him up for you. He has been staying in the laundry room on the especially cold days which have been frequent lately. He is a very nice cat. I wish we could find a nice home for him. I sense that he will have my room as soon as I move out.

Calgary
Another bit of exciting news. Amanda has gone out west to take a fab job offer in Calgary. I am so happy for her. We are all so
proud of her amzing career. She has always moved ahead by leaps and bounds. The weird thing is, it will cost her and I the same amount of money to fly home. It is always surprising when I think about how big Canada is. I know the England flight is longer but domestic flights in Canada are not always that cheap. We had a lovely cowboy goodbye party for her at work and then she had an awesome house party at night. We even squeezed in a bit of skiing when she was supposed to be packing. It's hard to believe that she has been gone for a week already. That means that I am leaving soon too.
Misc.
I have been to a few concerts recently. Mandie, Mel and I went down to Toronto to see Prize Fighter and a few other Toronto area bands. It was fun but the weather was horrible that night. Last Monday, Mel and I went to see the Kooks at the Mod
Club as wel which was a fun show too. It was a great venue. There were lots of good vantage points and it wasn't too loud. I don't like it went you hear a band play and you can't understand the words because of how loud everything is. Especially when you aren't familiar with the group. One of the groups we say in Toronto was very much like that. We couldn't decide if we liked them or not because we weren't really sure how they sounded in real life.

In terms of my health, I finally saw a specialist and he thinks it was probably just an infection in the brain that has now passed for the most part. This is odd but good news. I am generally feeling better anyways. Just general aches and pains combined with the tic which is now going away with the help of medication. That makes me happy.
Our recent station events were two nights of speed dating. It was higly amusing. It was fun to predict who if anyone would be a match. Watching people date in only three minutes really cuts through all the crap. Three minutes probably is enogh time for you tell you don't want to see a person aagin or you would like to know more
about them. If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend it. It's quite hillarious and I wasn't even doing the speed dating. Tonight I think I may take in a hockey game in Cambridge. It has warmed up a bit and I now feel like leaving the house again. Hope you're all surviving the winter where ever you are.
