We popped back to New York for a city break holiday. The camera didn't work last time so we had to come again. We did a few different things then last time but we saw some of the same stuff again. I have never been through such extreme security measures in my life. Going to the Statue of Liberty was insane. We had to go through full airport style security to get on the ferry and then do it all again when we got off the boat and went into the actual statue. I had to throw out so

many drinks it was ridiculous. Do I look like a terrorist to you?! By the third time we were forced to go through the scanners I was openly expressing my displeasure with the process. I remember going to the statue of liberty when I was in school and we just walked off the ferry and went where ever we liked. Times have changed. Despite all that we still had a really good time. We ate like pigs and enjoyed the big city. It was pretty chilly but there was a giant snow storm the week before and the week after we were there, so the timing couldn't have been better. Here is a selection of photos from the stuff we got up to...

I will now add my picture of the statue of liberty to the millions of others that are on line. But that's a pretty good shot!

Here is Rockefeller Centre skating rink. The twinkle lights were still in the trees and it was lightly snowing but you couldn't really tell. Because the buildings are so high, you have to look way up to see that it is actually snowing at all.

This is the mold for the statue of liberty's toe.
This is the Immigration museum on Ellis Island. It was really interesting and the pulled pork sandwiches in the cafe were excellent. There was a computer record of all the immigrants who came into Ellis Island from all over the world. You could type in some one's name and it would tell you any data available about their arrival. I looked up Campbells but I didn't really know who to look for.
I love Central Park. It is always the very last activity when we are in New York. I love the Mall the best. I want to go there in the summer and the fall to see the different look of it.
