Summer!
The summer is here! I just came in from a walk around my neighbourhood and it is gorgeous out! It is 9:30 at night and the temperature is perfect. If I didn't have work tomorrow I would spend the night on a patio somewhere. It’s ok though because I could probably go to sleep now and be just as happy. I am exhausted from the heat of the day. It has just been these last couple of days that the weather really heated up and I'm not sure if it will last. For me the nice weather is very important because when it is grey and dreary out every day it makes me all sad and depressed. I know, perhaps this wasn't the best country to choose but there you go. I spent the glorious weekend out and about as a tourist.
Friday
If I remember correctly it was raining when we started off but by the end of the evening it was all cleared up. I think I fell asleep on a lamp post, haha! It was a hilarious evening of drinking and dancing. There may be photo evidence but I will not be posting it here. I have not laughed that hard in a long time. And then again the next day when we went over the events of the night. It all took place in the district of Angel. So much fun!
Saturday
I got up surprisingly early as Gordie, the corbrador (Labrador/corgie cross, imagine what that looks like), licked my face. (Hadley and David’s dog). It was a very sunny morning so I go up and got moving. I decided to get back to going out as a tourist. I haven't done it for a while and I needed to get back to seeing the sights. I got very bogged down with work and in kind of a rut. So I got home at 9 in the morning and got out the guide book. I decided to head to Camden Town to see the markets. There is a whole area of town that is just markets filled with all kinds of lovely things. There is also a huge food section with Mexican, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, everything really. It was packed with shoppers because the day was perfect for it. It was overcast so we weren't roasting in the sun. There are all kinds of things I wanted to buy but I will hold off until school starts. I got home in the late afternoon and had a serious nap as Friday night's antics were finally catching up with me. I watched a movie and then hit the sack early.
Sunday
I woke up on another gorgeous day well rested and extremely hungry. I have been eating like there is no tomorrow over the last couple of days. My appetite is restored which means I am back to my old self. I went to Kilburn Park to start things off. I hadn’t been there yet. I was kind of waiting around to see Ben before he moved out. A new girl, Jenna is moving in (with budgie) next weekend. So I went down to Kilburn Park to read and soak up the sun for an hour or two. I was sitting in the rose garden when the pigeons started moving in. To my surprise and irritation, one walked up and pecked my toe! It didn't fly off or anything, it just stood and looked at me. I was taken aback! You've won this round pigeon, but next time I will kick you. So after that I headed out to the Science Museum in South Kensington. It was really cool. It was very futuristic and interactive. There is this whole section about how your personality is developed based on your genetic make up. Very interesting. I love the museum district. It is a great way to spend the day. There are several museums all connected from the tube station by an underground walkway. I went back to Camden in the evening for a few drinks on a patio and was in bed and ready for work before too long.

This is the nice looking railway bridge in Kilburn.

This is the Kilburn park rose garden. It is quite over grown but it is a nice place to sit. Until the pigeons come for you!

A big steam engine thing at the Science Museum.

A stack of cars from different countries and eras.

This is a shot of one of the big main halls of the museum. As you walk from one side to the other, the innovations move from past to present.

And finally there was the salute to plastic. Apparently plastic is celebrating a 100 year anniversary. This may include rubber, can't recall. Anyways, there was this long hallway with this huge red plastic sheets hanging down that you could walk through to find the exhibits. Very cool!
