Well, snowboarding didn't go exactly as planned. I went down the hill about one and a half times and had pretty much mastered the sport when I went slightly awry. I don't remember exactly what happened but the x-rays say the damage isn't major. A sprained wrist and thumb and they think my elbow has some of the bone chipped off of it. Also, my tail bone is slightly fractured and I have mild whiplash. All of this stings quite a bit but is expected to clear up in about a week or so. I don't have to wear a caste because of some kind of plaster made of something very cold. I wear that instead and change it twice a day. Cool, literal. It was about a two hour drive down from the mountains back to the hospital. Luckily, I couldn't stay awake for most of it. Thanks to Dec for driving me and cutting his own day so short!
I wasn't really enjoying it at the beginning but I had started to get into it right before I fell. When I am completely recovered I want to give it another shot. This is a picture of my snowboard and boots. There is also a picture of my helpful ferret Sally who has been very sympathetic about the whole situation. Or maybe she just likes the boots, hard to say. This all sounds more serious than it is so don't worry. I am going into work tomorrow and all that. I am just sore and tired. Still enjoying the car and everything else. I found cheddar at the grocery store which was so great! Cheese isn't real popular so it was amazing to find it in our smallish city. Talk to you all later.
