Just a short note to tell you all that I am still alive. I am in Chang Mai in the northern part of Thailand (sort of). I took an over night train and will be spending the next couple of days visiting ochid farms and going on elephant treks. Should be a ball. My feet are quite sore and I am running low on cash but I am still having a good holiday. I spent new years on an island called Kohpangan. There was about 2000 people on the beach having a big party. We watched fire dancers beside the ocean and drank chang beers. Then we caught a pick truck taxi back to our little jungle hide away. It was rustic to say the least. I never want to see that level of bugs , snakes and lizards in the room where I am sleeping again. Today I had my first hot water shower in 13 days. It was heaven. I would never make it on Survivor, I tell you that! Pictures will come when I get back to Japan. It's strange to think of Japan as home but now I do, I can't wait to get back to my appartment and start doing my moutain of laundry and all that good stuff. I did get a little home sick for Canada over these past few days though. I haven't really felt that way in Japan before. It's ok though becuase I know that a few of you will be coming my way in just a few short months. I hope you are enjoying the winter break if you are getting one. Talk to you soon!
