Here are a few pics from the weekend:

After the sumo guys lose a match they leave the area and go home. Believe it or not, these guys are like super stars here. People were waiting for their photos and signatures in a press area. This is me on the spotless Tokyo Subway system. In this picture I am on the Ropongi line destined for another night out. We should have slept on the subways but they close at 11:30 or midnight. Thats why people often stay out all night. If you missing an 11:30 train there is nothing until 5AM.
These guys

are in the Tsukiji Fish market. They are cutting up a huge tuna. The knife is as long as the fish too! They use these sword like knives and axes to cut them up. This is a street of electronics stores.

They had digital cameras for sale that had only been on sale for one week in Japan. There was a big Apple store and a ton of beautiful Japanese women in mini skirt uniforms trying to sell you stuff. It was cool but exhausting. There is a lot of posturing and ceremony involved in

Sumo. The wrestler spend a lt of time in their own corner doing kicks and slapping their bellies and throwing chalk into the ring. You can get English commentary. It's quite funny sounding: "This competitor has a very high leg but the other guy has a strong right hand...". The actual fighting may only last a few seconds. Here we are at Wolfgang Puck's Tokyo Restaurant and Cafe. Any of you Food Network geeks will appreciate this one!
Because there isn't much text and a lot of pictures, the captions probably don't line up but I thought I'd give it a try. That's it for now, have fun day everyone!

Words cannot express how much I love and envy your blog entries. :) I love them sooooooo much.
Sounds like a lot of drama for one weekend. Thank god you got the wallet back. We are for sure going to have to make a trip to Tokyo when I am there. :) hehe I'll keep an eye on your wallet.

Matty, I told everyone how this market was featured in national geography but they don't seem to know it here. I remember the fighting fish also. I wish you could have seen it and been there with me. It would have blown your mind! Plus the going to Wolfgnag Puck's restaurant after that. Although I don't thing you really love the guy.
